Magdalena Bialoborska Chambel: Phd in African Studies (2021 Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa; PhD Research Grant by FCT), MA in African Studies (2013 Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa), BA in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology (2001 University of Warsaw). She also completed the National Conservatory of Music as a musician (piano and transverse flute) with teaching qualifications. Currently she is a researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) as a postdoctoral fellow at the LLACAN – Langage, langues et cultures d’Afrique. She is associated researcher at the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon (CH-ULisboa), Centre for International Studies of Iscte (CEI-Iscte) and Centre for Social Studies Amilcar Cabral (CESAC) em Bissau. She is also a founder of the Santomean organization Manga-Manga, dedicated to research, register and diffiusion of Santomean culture. She is the author of the book “Dêxa puíta sócó(m)pé. Música em São Tomé e Príncipe do colonialismo à independência” (Lisboa, Centro de Históra ULisboa, 2022). She published 7 articles in cientific journals, 3 book chapters, presented papers in national and international events and organized many scientific events. She participated in 5 scientific projects and obtained the doctoral grant from the Fundation of Science and Tecnology FCT (SFRH/BD/116953/2016). Main research interests: music, history, social and cultural change in multicultural societies.
