The XIII Cardiff Conference on the Theory and Practice of Translation in the Middle Ages. The Medieval Translator, is going to be hosted by the School of Arts and Humanities – University of Lisbon (Portugal), between 17-21 June 2024.

 

These Conferences on the Theory and Practice of Translation in the Middle Ages were originally held at the University of Wales, Cardiff (1987-), and are now regularly organised in locations across Europe. This year, the XIII Conference is held in Lisbon, under the general theme Translation, Memory, and Politics in the Medieval World.

 

The XIII Cardiff Conference is jointly organised by the Centre for Classical Studies (CEC), the Centre for History (CH-ULisboa), and the Centre for English Studies (ULICES/CEAUL). It will feature almost seventy presentations from scholars across the globe, covering a wide range of topics in medieval translation.

 


 

O Centro de Estudos Clássicos, o Centro de História e o Centro de Estudos Anglísticos organizam, entre os dias 17 e 21 de Junho de 2024, a XIII Cardiff Conference on the Theory and Practice of Translation in the Middle Ages. The Medieval Translator. Estes congressos sobre "Teoria e Prática da Tradução na Idade Média" começaram a reunir-se na Universidade de Cardiff em 1987, e são agora regularmente organizados em diferentes cidades europeias.
