It focuses on the relationships between technological advances, social changes, doctrinal debates, and economic pressures, as well as how these factors have transformed the phenomenon of war and have been shaped by it.<\/p>\n<p>RG-HM\u2019s activities will be structured around four axes of analysis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Armed conflicts and territorial expansion (coexistence, synergy, societal impacts);<\/li>\n<li>Theory and practice of war;<\/li>\n<li>Military technology and technical innovation (armaments, fortifications, logistics);<\/li>\n<li>Cultural dynamics and the impact of war.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The aim of the RG-HM\u2019s activities is to promote a reassessment of historiography across a broad chronological spectrum in the fields of land and maritime military history and archaeology. As the only Portuguese university RG specifically dedicated to Military History, it has enhanced the impact of its work on society through knowledge transfer and support for various initiatives, such as international congresses or the seminars\/workshops: Winter Campaigns, Women\u2019s War, and Society, Health and Military Medicine. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Military History Research Group aims to study the complexities of war, along with its theory and practice, across a broad spectrum of topics, from Antiquity to the Contemporary World.
