Soraia Milene Carvalho completed her PhD in History, specialising in Contemporary History, at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2025), with the thesis “A Sociedade das Nações, Portugal, a diplomacia portuguesa e os seus agentes (1911-1939)”. She was a PhD research fellow funded by FCT (ref. 2021.08726.BD). She completed her master’s degree in History, specialising in Modern and Contemporary History at FLUL, with the dissertation “A Sociedade das Nações: Europa, Portugal e Agricultura” (2019). She is a researcher at the Center for History of the University of Lisbon (CH-ULisboa). She completed a curricular internship at the Archive/Library of the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2017, where she catalogued and inventoried, on the respective online platform, the Archive of the Portuguese Secretariat of the League of Nations held by the Diplomatic Institute of the MFA. She has participated in national and international scientific meetings, presenting papers and publications related to Portuguese republican thought and the League of Nations. Between 2017 and 2019, under the scientific coordination of Prof. Teresa Nunes, she was part of the bilateral research project between Portugal and Serbia, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He also participated in the bilateral research project between Portugal and Poland funded by the FCT. He conducts research at the Camiliana de Sintra, a project within the Camilo Castelo Branco Chair.
