Sofia de Paula Poejo Vasconcelos Nunes, concluded her Doctor’s degree in History, speciality in History and Culture of Religions, in 2016/01/21 at Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Letras; and her Master’s degree in Theology in 2011/06/09 at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Faculdade de Teologia. Is a Researcher, since 2015, at Universidade de Lisboa, Centro de História, from 2013 to 2015, was Research Assistant . Is Técnico Superior de Teologia, at Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, Gabinete de Estudos Olisiponenses, since 2014, in which works as Researcher. Is Researcher at Museu de Santo António-Museu de Lisboa, since 2017, working on Saint Anthony’s bibliographic studies. Formerly, from 1990 to 2014, was head of the Preservation, Conservation and Restoration Department, at Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, Gabinete de Estudos Olisiponenses. Currently is She is currently developing a line of research, at the Gabinete de Estudos Olisiponenses-GEO, on “Man and Death in the Urban Space: Subsidies for the History of Lisbon” and is also investigating the symbolism and funerary representations present in Lisbon’s main cemeteries. She is a member of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Catholicism and Globalisation – IEAC-GO, and is part of the Scientific Committee and Organising Committee of the “1st International Congress on Spirituality and Mysticism. In Search of the Non-Limit”, scheduled for 24, 25, 26 and 27 April 2024, at Colunata Eventos, Bom Jesus do Monte, in Braga. Is also responsible for translating many texts and biographies for the Congress Book. Through the institute, she is taking part in the project to publish the “Global Dictionary of Spirituality and Mysticism”. Ed. IEAC-GO and Portuguese Episcopal Conference, 2 Vols. To be published between 2024 and 2025. Her participation in this dictionary consists of translating entries for the dictionary, from Italian into Portuguese, and authoring several entries. Her main research fields are Ancient History; History; Theology; Cultures and Religions; Philosophy; Literature.
