Rui Miguel Rocha completed his B.A. in History (2014) at the University of Porto and earned his M.A. in Medieval Studies at the same institution, where he developed a project on the spatial presence of the regional nobility during the reign of Afonso III (1248–1279). In 2017, he was awarded a research fellowship by the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon (CH-ULisboa) to work on the project OEconomia Studii: Funding, Resources, and Management of the Portuguese University (13th–16th Centuries) (PTDC/EPHHIS/3154/2014), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). In September 2019, Rui Miguel Rocha received a Ph.D. scholarship from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and is currently completing his Ph.D. thesis under the Inter-University Ph.D. Program in History (PIUDHist), focusing on the relationship between the university and central power during the Manueline period (15th–16th centuries). In 2023, he was a Research Fellow (BI) in the project BODY&SOUL: Representations of the Body and of the Soul in Portuguese Medieval Art and Literature. The Imaginary of Western Civilization in the Making, hosted and funded by CH-ULisboa (CHUL_93_2022_BI_EstDeDout_Base_Abril). Rui Rocha is currently a researcher in a joint project between the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon and the Odivelas City Council on the Monastery of São Dinis de Odivelas. Among his scientific activities, he has collaborated in the organization of conferences and participated as a speaker in several international events. He has also published articles in scientific journals and contributed to collective volumes. His research interests focus primarily on political and cultural history, particularly the study of universities and other cultural institutions in the Middle Ages.
