Moisés Silva Fernandes holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies by the University of Manitoba (Canada) in 1988, a Master of Arts in Political Studies – International Relations and Comparative Politics of Developed Countries – by the University of Manitoba, another Master in Social Sciences, History and Sociology of Power by the University of Lisbon, and a Ph. D. by the University of Lisbon in Political Sociology. Completed \\\”Aggregation\\\” in Political Sociology in 2015 by Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the University of Lisbon. He was first Director of the Confucius Institute of the University of Lisbon, from 2007 until 2011. In the meantime, he is Professor and a Research Fellow and lecturers on three subject areas in the Department of History of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. He has published 4 books, 16 articles in conferences, 11 book chapters, 32 articles in scientific journals, 19 book reviews, and 1 exhibition catalogue. Currently, his main research interests are Timor-Leste in Portuguese Foreign Policy, 1975-1999, China\\\’s Foreign Policy towards the Lusophone Countries, and Australia\\\’s Foreign Policy versus Timor-Leste and Portugal.
