Maria de Fátima Reis completed her PhD in History in 2000 at the University of Lisbon – School of Arts and Humanities, a Master’s degree in History in 1989 at the University of Lisbon – School of Arts and Humanities and a Degree in History in 1983 at the University of Lisboan – School of Arts and Humanities. The areas of study are: History of Poor relief (abandoned children and orphans); History of Health care, Public Health and Welfare; History of elites and Local Power; History of the Church; History of the Sephardic Diaspora. She is Professor at the University of Lisbon – School of Arts and Humanities.
