Maria Paula Marçal Lourenço is Professor Assistant since 2000 in School of Arts and Humanities / Unversity of Lisbon and has completed her PhD in Modern History in 2000 (School of Arts and Humanities / University of Lisbon). She finished her Master in Modern History in 1989 (School of Arts and Humanities / University of Lisbon) and Graduated in History in 1983 in the same School and University . She is PhD Researcher at Centro de História da U-Lisboa and at the Instituto Universitario de \”La Corte en Europa\”, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She published several articles in magazines and 18 books chapters and 10 books. She was principal coordinator, event organizer and research projects in Portugal and in other european countries. Supervised several Master and PhD thesis. Has received the Modern and Contemporary award, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, held by Academia Portuguesa da História (2005) in which she is Number Academic . She works in areas of Portuguese Modern History with emphasis on Royal Household Families (seventeenth and eighteen centuries) and the Royal Court life.
