PhD from the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon in 2004 with the thesis entitled Portugal and Castile (1431-1475); Rhythms of a Vigilant Peace, Master in Discovery and Portuguese Expansion since 1995 with the Thesis “The Dominicans in Portuguese Expansion, 15th and 16th centuries, contributions to their study”; degree in History in 1990. Is an Assistant Professor, with permanent appointment, at the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon, where she has taught in the Department of History since 1990 and a researcher at the History Center of the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon. Guest professor at the University of S. Paulo, Brazil and invited to the seminars, L’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales de Paris, at the Séminaire Savoir et pouvoir dans la Péninsule Ibérique au Moyen Age », dans le cadre du Center de Recherches Historiques, during many years. Author of several specialized books and articles in Portugal and abroad. Specialization courses III Course on the Iberian Peninsula and the Mediterranean during the siglos ; among others and other matters linked to its activity. He is a member of several cultural and scientific organizations, including: the Portuguese Society of Medieval Studies, the Historical Society of the Independence of Portugal, the Society of Historical Studies of Navarra and collaborator of the Portuguese Medieval Studies Group (GEMPO) of the Jaime Chair Courtier of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences of the University of São Paulo and researcher at the Luso-Arabic Institute for Cooperation. His research focuses on the Middle Ages and Modern Age, with dozens of works presented at national and foreign scientific meetings, covering topics from Religious History to Political-institutional. He is currently collaborating on two international projects at Spanish universities on War and Spices.
