João Branco holds a degree in History (2002) and a master’s degree in Culture and Local Government Studies (2008) from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL). He has taught History at both primary and secondary education levels and is currently an editorial coordinator at LeYa. He is a doctoral candidate in the Inter-University Doctoral Program in History (PIUDHist), a research assistant at the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon (CH-ULisboa), and a member of the Uses of the Past research group (CH-ULisboa). His research focuses on political history, the history of ideas, and the history of historiography, particularly during the 19th to 20th-century transition period in Portugal.
