Inês Meira Araújo holds a degree in Art History (2009) and a master’s degree in Art, Heritage, and Restoration Theory (2013) from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. Her master’s thesis was awarded an Honourable Mention in the National Defense Prize, granted by the Portuguese Military History Commission. She is currently a doctoral student in the Interuniversity PhD Program in History (PIUDHist) and is part of the Cultural Heritage team at the Castelo de São Jorge – Lisboa Cultura. She has been a researcher at the Center for History at the University of Lisbon since 2009, where she is part of the Military History research group. Her research has focused on late medieval and Renaissance art, with an emphasis on iconography and representations of war. More recently, she has deepened her studies on medieval Lisbon. As part of her academic and professional activities, she has organized academic meetings, participated in international projects, delivered presentations at national and international scientific events, and published articles in journals and collective books. In 2024, she was responsible for curating the exhibition A Revolta do Castelo (1928). She is a founding member of the Iberian Association of Military History (4th-16th centuries) and is a member of the Portuguese Society of Medieval History (SPEM).
