Gustavo Bernardo Barroso is a PhD Candidate in History at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. His background is in Pharmaceutical Sciences, also at the University of Lisbon and he works in a Pharmaceutical Company. Trying to bring together several sciences of his interest, he pursues research on Pandemics in Ancient History under the supervision of Prof Nuno Simões Rodrigues. More specifically, the title of his thesis will be, expectably, “Pandemics, Religion and Power: The Roman Empire Facing Epidemic Disease”.
