My name is Gonçalo Guerreiro Santos, I was born in Faro on May 26, 1998. I graduated in Political Science and International Relations from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2020. I then obtained a Master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary History from the School of Sociology and Public Policy at ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, in 2022.
I am currently writing a registered doctoral thesis entitled “Comparative History of Fascist Ideology in the Ibero-American World: The Iberian, Brazilian and Argentine Cases (1930-1945)”. My research therefore focuses on the areas of Contemporary History, Comparative History, History of Ideas and Cultural History. I am a member of the “Uses of the Past” research group at the History Center of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, under the coordination of Professor Sérgio Campos Matos.
I am taking part in the project “Dictionary of Portuguese Historians: from the Royal Academy of Sciences to the Estado Novo” organized by the History Centre of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, with the support of the National Library of Portugal, the Luso-American Foundation and the Foundation for Science and Technology.
