Elisa Fauth is a PhD candidate at PIUDHist, affiliated with the Centre for History at the University of Lisbon and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Her dissertation discusses women’s rights and authoritarian regimes in Portugal and Brazil (1930-1945). In 2021, she was awarded the Doctoral Research Grant (UI/BD/152084/2021), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, to develop her research. She earned her master’s degree in history at Unisinos University, with a CAPES scholarship, where she defended a dissertation on gender discourses in the construction of femininities through the press. From 2011 to 2014, during her undergraduate studies in History, she was enrolled in two research projects with a focus on women’s history, gender, and history of the body, participating in two research projects and conducting studies focused on Women’s History, Gender, and the History of the Body. She is a member of the Research Group Uses of the Pass and the Research Network Right, History, and Memory. She has presented at various seminars and conferences and has published articles and book chapters in Portugal, Brazil, and other countries. Her main research interests include Women’s History, Authoritarian Regimes, Women’s Rights, and Citizenship.
