Bruno Alexandre Gonçalves Neves holds a degree in History from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL – 1994-1998), a Master’s degree in the History of Discoveries and Portuguese Expansion (FLUL – 2000-2005), and is a PhD candidate in Maritime History (FLUL – 2022-…). He joined the Portuguese Navy in 1999 in the class of Naval Senior Technicians – History, as an officer under contract. He became a permanent member in 2009 in the Technical Service class, specialising in History. Between 1999 and 2021, he worked at the Museu de Marinha as Head of the Research Service and curator of the permanent exhibition, having organised various temporary and itinerant exhibitions on diverse themes. He is the author of several documentary research works and presentations at colloquia and meetings on Maritime History and Museology. He currently serves at the Naval School, since December 2021, teaching Naval History and History of Naval Power, and is the director of the respective Library and School Museum.
