Beatriz Alves Caldeira was born in Lisbon in 2000. Her primary research interests lie in cultural history and the medieval imaginary, with a focus on medieval warfare. She earned her B.A. in History from the University of Lisbon in 2021 and completed her M.A. in Medieval Studies at the same institution in 2024, with a dissertation titled “Psychomachia: The Spiritual Combat in the Sermons of St. Anthony of Lisbon and Friar Paio of Coimbra”. Since 2021, she has been a researcher at the Centre for History at the University of Lisbon. As part of her academic career, she has presented as a speaker at several specialized conferences, both in Portugal and abroad. Additionally, she has authored several articles in academic journals and contributed with chapters to collective volumes. Furthermore, Beatriz Caldeira has participated in science dissemination and knowledge transfer activities to civil society in high-profile events. She is currently involved in the research project “BODY&SOUL: Representations of the Body and Soul in Portuguese Medieval Art and Literature. The Imagery of Western Civilization in the Making”.
