Ângela Domingues

Ângela Domingues is investigadora principal com habilitação to perform scientific coordination functions (2024). She has been working as a researcher at CH-ULisboa since 2015. She has been qualified to perform scientific coordination functions since 2009. She holds a PhD in History of Discoveries and European Expansion (FCSH-UNL 1998). She is a professor responsible for chairs and seminars of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles in the areas of History of Discoveries and European Expansion and History of Colonial Brazil. She was director of the Department of Human Sciences of the Instituto de Investigação Científica Tropical (2005-2008). She was elected as coordinator of the Research Group Building and connecting Empires of the Center for History of ULisboa and she is a member of the Coordinating Committee of CH-ULisboa. She was a senior visiting professor at UFPA (CAPES 2017), chercheur-résident (Casa de Velázquez – École des Hautes Études Hispaniques et Ibériques, 2013) and held a fellowship at the John Carter Brown Library (Providence, 1995).
