Ana Canas Delgado Martins is a research fellow at the Centre for History of the University of Lisbon (ULisboa) and director of the Overseas Historical Archive (AHU/DGLAB), Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Library and Information Studies (University College London, 2004), a Master in Early Modern History of Portugal and a Degree in History (School of Arts and Humanities / FLUL, ULisboa, 1990 and 1981). She has been participating in several research projects involving namely Portuguese colonial archival heritage and was principal investigator in two of them. She taught at the FLUL, ULisboa and at the FCSH, NOVA and has been member of several juries of academic degrees (History, Information Studies, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage). Her main fields of research, publication and other activities concern Archival Studies and History.
