Her research focuses mainly on History and Science Education, with an emphasis on the study of mentalities related to the exploitation and preservation of natural resources, especially discourses on forest preservation in Brazil during the 18th and 19th centuries. On this topic, she published the article “O Regimento de Conservação das Matas do Brasil de 1799” (The 1799 Regulation for the Conservation of Brazilian Forests) in Revista Almanack, 2023 (Qualis A1). Another key area of research is the teaching of history in the context of critical citizenship, adopting an interdisciplinary approach. It effectively bridges the gap between school and university knowledge, including the creation of the programme ‘The History Centre of the University of Lisbon in Schools’ (CH-ULisboa nas Escolas), in which it coordinated intra- and interdisciplinary activities in the field of history. The initiative involved Brazilian and Portuguese schools, with the active participation of thousands of students and considering the perspective of teaching history for critical citizenship.
